January 15, 2012 - Mark Brown as General Grant

generalgrant.jpg

Mr. Brown has been portraying General Grant since 1980.  He has been to several states in the Union educating a variety of groups about the "life and times" of the General.  Also, in his portrayal, he dispels some of the myths about the General and adds some interesting insight as to Grant as a soldier, father and husband.

Mr. Brown is a retired Funeral Director having graduated from Southern Illinois University.  He has been a history-buff from childhood and continues to learn more to add to his programs.

Mr. Brown has good knowledge of military history having served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He is currently involved with the Marine Corps League and is a past Commandant.

Mark is currently the President of the North Greene Chamber of Commerce and his wife,  Patricia, is a teacher at North Greene High School.  Together they have six children and eight grandchildren.  Mark and Patricia reside in rural Roodhouse with their horses and several beloved dogs and cats!
